Japan's Ricoh Pentax plans as part of a push to get into the digital SLR market, it said Friday.
Ricoh buys the Pentax business of Hoya, a Japanese optical technology company, acquired the camera manufacturers in 2008. The acquisition, agreed on Friday by companies expected to be in October of this year take place.
The company does not announce a price for the deal, but said the Nikkei business daily, that Ricoh figures around 10 billion ¥ ($ 124 million) for Pentax.
